Mekorama promotional artwork showing a tiny robot on a floating block diorama

Mekorama hands you a floating miniature, a tiny robot, and a door on the far side. Nothing in it is hard to understand, and that is why a lot of people lose an evening to it. We wanted that quiet itch to be scratchable without an install, so we built Skyturn. It is a real-time 3D puzzle with lit stone towers, soft shadows, and cranks that swing whole bridges around. It runs on this page, it is free, and there is no signup.

Play Skyturn now

Tap any tile to walk there. Stand on a crank, press Turn, and watch the tower rotate. Sound is off by default.

How to play

Your goal is the gold gate. Tap a tile and the wanderer walks the shortest route there. Some bridges are mounted on a crank: walk onto the crank tile, press Turn (or Space), and the whole tower swings a quarter turn with you on it.

The second trick is the angle. Drag the scene, or use the two rotate buttons or Q and E, to spin the view. Two glowing rings on separate towers mean those tiles join when you line them up on screen, and you can cross between them. The undo, restart, and hint buttons are always one tap away.

Each day gives everyone the same trail of three levels, and every level shows its par, the fewest moves possible. Your best total and your streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Mekorama

Skyturn keeps what makes Mekorama calming: a small solid world, a character that does exactly what you tell it, and puzzles that depend on seeing how parts fit together. Turning a crank to bring a bridge into reach is the same pleasure in both games. There is no timer pressure and failing never costs you anything, because undo is free.

We left out most of what makes Mekorama a full game. There is no handcrafted level set, no level editor, no community levels, and no collectibles. Our levels are generated from the date and checked by a solver, so every one is solvable, but they do not have a designer’s sense of surprise. Mekorama’s best moments come from a human who wanted to fool you gently, and code cannot fake that.

So treat Skyturn as a sample. If a three-level trail makes you want more spaces to think in, get the real thing. If you like the angle trick in particular, our roundup of the best logic puzzle games for Android covers other games built around rotating the world.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Mekorama in a browser?

Mekorama is distributed as a mobile app, and this page is not a browser version of it. Skyturn is our own original game inspired by the same kind of puzzle, so you can try the feeling in any modern browser on a phone or a computer. For the real levels you need the app.

Is this the real Mekorama?

No. Skyturn is an original game we built, inspired by the idea of guiding a small character across turning block architecture. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mekorama’s author or publisher. Every shape, color, and sound in it is generated by our own code, and the download links above go to the official app.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, Skyturn makes no further network requests, so it keeps running if your connection drops. Mekorama itself also plays offline after you install it.

Is it free?

Completely. There are no ads, no purchases, and no account. Your streak and best score stay in your browser’s local storage on your own device.

Is the daily trail the same for everyone?

Yes. The three levels come from the date, so everyone sees the same puzzles on the same day. A bonus trail button gives you extra levels that never touch your streak or daily best.
