Color Ball Sort Puzzle is a quiet kind of Android game. You pick up a ball, drop it in another tube, and keep going until every tube holds a single colour. We wanted that feeling without an install, so we built Chroma Rack, a lit 3D version that runs right on this page. It is free, needs no signup, and works on a phone, a laptop, or a desktop with a keyboard.
Play Chroma Rack now
Tap a tube to lift its top marble, then tap another tube to drop it. Sound is off by default, so turn it on if you want the glass chimes.
How to play
Move one marble at a time. A marble can land on an empty tube or on a marble of the same colour, and every tube holds four. Fill each tube with one colour and the tube gets a brass lid. Each marble also carries a small symbol, so you can tell colours apart without relying on hue alone, and you can switch the symbols off in the menu.
Undo is free and unlimited. Hint shows a move from a solver and the extra tube button adds a spare tube, but using either one caps the puzzle at two stars. Stars depend on how close you finish to par, the move count our solver finds for that puzzle. From level 14 (the Observatory) every marble under the top one is frosted until you uncover it.
On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or A and D to move between tubes, Enter or Space to pick up and drop, U to undo, H for a hint and M to mute. On a phone, everything is a tap.
Levels keep climbing from three colours up to twelve, through five named zones. There is also a daily puzzle, the same racks for everyone that day, with a streak counter. Your progress, best score and streak are saved on your device, and nothing leaves your browser.
When a puzzle is solved you can save a short clip of it and a score card as image files. If you share your result from this page, the link opens the same puzzle for a friend with your move count as the target.
How it compares to Color Ball Sort Puzzle
Chroma Rack keeps what makes the original work: tubes, four slots each, one marble at a time, and the small satisfaction of a tube that finally holds one colour. A puzzle takes a minute or two, and the next one starts with a tap. Every puzzle is generated by scrambling a solved rack backwards, so each one can be solved, and none of them starts already sorted.
What we left out is everything around the puzzle. There is no level pack, no themes shop and no ads, and the game does not need an account. We also changed the details, such as the hidden marbles, the par and star system and the daily puzzle, so this is a different game and not a copy.
If you want the original’s own levels and its app-store polish on your phone, the original is the better home for it. Chroma Rack is the one you open in a browser tab when you have five minutes.
