ASICS Runkeeper running tracker app feature graphic

ASICS Runkeeper tracks your runs with GPS, but a lot of running questions come before the run: what pace gets me a 25-minute 5K, what should my 10K splits look like, what marathon time does my half suggest? We built Pace Board to answer those in a few seconds. It is a free pace calculator and race planner that runs right here in your browser. No install, no signup, and it opens with a real example already filled in.

Plan your pace now

Type a time, a pace or a speed and the other two follow. Pick a distance, drag the split slider, and watch the chart and the splits table move.

How to use Pace Board

Choose 5K, 10K, Half, Full or Custom, and switch between km and miles at any time. Then edit any one of finish time, pace or speed. The other two update as you type, so 25:00 for a 5K becomes 5:00 per km and 12.0 km/h. Changing the distance keeps your pace and recalculates the finish time.

The split slider goes from even pacing to an 8% negative split, which starts you slower and finishes faster while keeping the same total time. The chart shows the plan against a dashed even-pace line, and the table lists every split with elapsed time. The race predictor below it uses the Riegel formula, and explains it in plain words.

Each day has a target, the same for everyone that date. Tap Load target to try it, and Mark today done to grow your streak. Your inputs and streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to ASICS Runkeeper

Pace Board keeps the part of a running app you use at a desk or on the start line: pace math, splits and goal times. It deliberately drops the rest. There is no GPS tracking, no run history, no audio cues, no training plans, no account and no sync between devices.

The real ASICS Runkeeper records a run as you go, maps your route, and keeps a history you can look back on. It also offers structured plans and coaching options, some of which sit behind a subscription. None of that fits in a single browser tab, and we did not try to fake it.

Our advice is simple. Use Pace Board to pick a target and work out your splits before a race. Use the app to record the run itself and track how your training changes over the months.

ASICS Runkeeper is available on Android and iOS. Free tracking covers distance, pace and routes, while paid tiers add coaching and plans. If you are weighing other trackers, our Strava alternatives roundup and Nike app alternatives guide compare the field.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my running pace?

Divide your finish time by the distance. A 25:00 5K is 1,500 seconds over 5 km, which is 5:00 per km. Pace Board does this live: type a time or a speed and the pace appears, in kilometres or miles.

What is a good 5K pace for a beginner?

Many new runners finish a 5K somewhere between 30 and 40 minutes, which is roughly 6:00 to 8:00 per km. Enter a goal time above to see the pace, splits and matching speed, then adjust until the plan feels realistic.

How accurate is the race predictor?

It uses the Riegel formula: new time equals your known time multiplied by the distance ratio raised to the power 1.06. It works best for distances between about 3K and a marathon and assumes you train for the longer race. Treat it as an estimate, not a promise.

What is a negative split?

It means running the second half of a race faster than the first. The slider in Pace Board shows what that looks like split by split, with the same finish time.

Is Pace Board free, and does it work offline?

Yes. It is free, needs no signup, and works offline once the page has loaded. Your last inputs and your streak are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device only.

Is this the real ASICS Runkeeper?

No. Pace Board is an original tool we built, inspired by the planning side of running. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to ASICS or Runkeeper. For GPS tracking and run history, get the official app from the stores above.
