What makes a coaster-building game is not placing the last piece of track. It is the first ride, when the train crests the lift hill and you find out whether your design works. We wanted that loop without an install, so we built Swoop Park. It is a 3D coaster designer that runs on this page: shape the track, ride it in first person, and see how the ride is rated. Free, no signup, and it fits on a phone.

Play Swoop Park now

Press “Ride this coaster” to try the starter track, or drag a white marker first to change it. On a keyboard, the arrow keys pick and raise points and Space starts the ride.

How to play

Every day brings a new park: the hills, lakes, trees, and the big wheel are the same for everyone that day. A starter coaster is already built, with a chain lift, a long first drop, and a few smaller hills. Drag any marker to move it, or use Raise, Lower, Add, Remove, and Lift to change height, add a point, or choose where the lift ends. Drag empty space to turn the camera, and pinch or scroll to zoom.

The chips at the top update as you build. They show excitement, intensity, nausea, and cost against today’s goals. Hit Ride and the train follows real physics: the lift hands it energy, gravity and friction do the rest, and a hill that is too tall for the energy left will stall it. After the ride you get a guest score out of 100. Your best score, track, and streak are saved on your device, and nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to RollerCoaster Tycoon

RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is a full park management game. You build rides and paths, hire staff, set prices, and keep guests happy over many hours. Swoop Park keeps one slice of that: designing a single coaster and finding out how it rides. The ratings follow the same idea of excitement, intensity, and nausea, and a bad design can fail in the same way, by running out of speed or by making guests feel ill.

What we left out is the management layer. There are no guests to hire for, no shops, no park rating, and no unlockable scenery. Rides last about half a minute, so a build-ride-tweak round fits in a couple of minutes. Our ratings are our own formulas, so numbers will not match the original game.

If you want to run a whole park, the real game is the better fit. For a quick design puzzle with a fresh terrain each day, this page is enough. We also compared theme park and museum tycoon games on Android and the best Planet Coaster alternatives for desktop if you want more builders.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play RollerCoaster Tycoon in a browser?

The official game runs as an app on your device, not in a browser tab. Swoop Park, the game on this page, is our own original coaster designer that runs in the browser on a phone or a computer.

Is this the real RollerCoaster Tycoon?

No. Swoop Park is an original game we built, inspired by the coaster-design part of that genre. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher or developers of RollerCoaster Tycoon. All art and sound are generated by our own code, and the download links above point to the official app.

How does the ride physics work?

A chain lift pulls the train to the top of the lift hill at a steady speed. After that, gravity speeds the train up on the way down, and friction and air drag slow it a little everywhere. Hills must stay lower than the lift top, or the train stalls. Sharp valleys and tight turns raise the intensity and nausea ratings.

Is it free?

Completely. No ads, no purchases, no account, and no data collection. Your score and streak live in your browser’s local storage and are never sent anywhere.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, the game makes no more network requests, so it keeps working if your connection drops. It needs a browser with WebGL, which most phones and computers have.
