Pinball HD promotional artwork showing a 3D pinball table with bumpers and flippers

Pinball HD is a collection of 3D pinball tables for Android, and it scratches an itch that few other games do: a steel ball, two flippers, and one more try before you put the phone down. We wanted that feeling without an install, so we built Orbit Pinball, a real 3D table that runs right here on this page. It is free, needs no signup, and works on a phone, a laptop, or a desktop with a keyboard.

Play Orbit Pinball now

Launch the ball, then keep it alive with the flippers. Sound is off by default, so turn it on if you want the bumper chimes.

How to play

On a phone, tap the left or right half of the screen to flip. Hold the Launch button to pull the plunger back, then let go to fire the ball. On a keyboard, use Z or the left arrow for the left flipper, the slash key or the right arrow for the right one, and hold Space to charge the plunger.

You get three balls per game. Bumpers, slingshots, the spinner and the ramp on the right all score, and a streak of hits in quick succession adds a combo bonus. Fill the three lanes at the top or clear the four drop targets to raise your multiplier, up to five times. Each ball also has one free save during the first nine seconds after launch.

Each day brings a new goal between 10,000 and 25,000 points and a new pattern of six glowing targets. Hit a lit target for 2,500 points, and light all six for a 10,000 bonus. Your best score and play streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Pinball HD

Orbit Pinball keeps the core of the genre: a ball under gravity, flippers you time yourself, and a table full of things that react when you hit them. The ball physics run a fixed time step with continuous collision, so a fast shot never passes through a wall or a flipper. Games last a few minutes, and a new one starts with one tap.

What we left out is the breadth. Pinball HD is a collection, so it offers several tables, each with its own layout and goals. Orbit Pinball has one table, no unlockable themes, no leaderboard, and no ads. We tuned that single table so every target is reachable and the daily goal can always be met.

If you want a variety of tables, deeper missions, and a pinball game you can keep on your phone, the original is the better home for it. Orbit Pinball is the table you open in a browser tab when you have five minutes. If you are also curious about the classic table that came bundled with older versions of Windows, ours is a different design and not a copy of it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Pinball HD in a browser?

Pinball HD is an Android app, so playing the original means installing it on a phone or tablet. Orbit Pinball, the game on this page, is our own pinball table that runs in any modern browser with WebGL, on phone or desktop.

Is this the real Pinball HD?

No. Orbit Pinball is an original game we built, inspired by 3D pinball games like Pinball HD. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher of Pinball HD. All art and sound are generated by our own code, and the download links above point to the official app.

Is this the old pinball game from Windows?

No. Many people who search for pinball online are looking for the table that shipped with older versions of Windows. Orbit Pinball has its own table, its own rules, and a 3D view, and it is not a copy of that game.

Is it free?

Yes. There are no ads, no purchases, and no account. Your best score and streak stay in your browser’s local storage and are never sent anywhere.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, the game makes no further network requests, so it keeps running if your connection drops. For the original app, check its store page for connection requirements.
