Image Size - Photo Resizer feature graphic

Image Size - Photo Resizer solves a small, constant problem: the photo you have is the wrong size for the place it needs to go. A form wants 35x45 mm, a post wants a 1080 square, an email bounces at 10 MB. Most of those jobs happen once, on one picture. So we built Fitframe, a free photo resizer that runs in your browser. Drop a photo in, set the size, crop it, and download the result. Nothing is uploaded, and there is nothing to install.

Resize a photo now

Fitframe opens with a sample photo already loaded, so the size readout is alive before you touch anything. Pick a preset below the preview, or choose your own photo and set the pixels yourself.

How to use it

Tap “Choose a photo” or drag an image onto the page. Fitframe decodes it on your device and shows it with a crop box on top. Drag the box or its corners, or focus it and use the arrow keys to nudge it (hold Shift to resize). The 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9 chips lock the box to a shape, and the rotate and flip buttons fix a sideways photo.

Then set the size. Type a width, use the plus and minus buttons, or drag a slider. With the link button on, the height follows the crop shape. The presets cover a 1080 square, a 1080x1920 story, HD, Full HD, a 413x531 passport photo (35x45 mm at 300 dpi), and a 150 pixel thumbnail.

Pick JPEG, PNG or WebP. For JPEG and WebP, a quality slider shows the real file size as you drag it. “Target file size” works the other way: tell it 100 KB and it finds the highest quality that fits. The Compare tab wipes between the original and the exported file. Your last settings stay on this device.

The daily size challenge is a small extra. Each day it asks for the sample photo at a set size under a set weight, and it keeps a streak count on your device.

How it compares to Image Size - Photo Resizer

Fitframe keeps the job the app is known for: set exact pixels, keep or break the aspect ratio, crop to a shape, and choose the output format. The file size you see is the real size of the file you will download, because we encode it as you adjust.

It leaves out what a browser tab is bad at. Image Size - Photo Resizer is an app on your phone, so it is there whenever a photo needs resizing and does not depend on a browser tab. Fitframe handles one photo at a time, and very large images are capped at 36 megapixels for output so a phone does not run out of memory.

Our take: use Fitframe when you have one photo, a deadline, and no wish to install anything. Use the app if you resize photos every week and want the tool on your phone. If you only need to shrink a file, our free image compressor is simpler. Frequently asked questions

Can I resize a photo online without uploading it?

Yes. Fitframe does every step on your device: decoding, cropping, resizing and encoding. The photo never leaves your browser, and the tool has no server to send it to.

How do I resize a photo to 1080x1080?

Open the 1080 square preset, or the 1:1 chip and then a width of 1080. The crop box snaps to a square, you can move it over the part of the photo you want, and the download is exactly 1080 by 1080 pixels.

How do I get a photo under 100 KB?

Choose the “Under 100 KB” preset, or switch on “Target file size” and enter 100. Fitframe lowers JPEG or WebP quality until the file fits. If the photo is too large to fit even at the lowest quality, it says so and suggests a smaller width and height.

What size is a passport photo?

The passport preset exports 413x531 pixels, which is 35x45 mm at 300 dpi. Check your country’s rules before you submit, because some offices ask for a different size or a plain background.

Is this the official Image Size - Photo Resizer app?

No. Fitframe is an original tool we built, inspired by the job Image Size - Photo Resizer does. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the app’s publisher. If you resize photos often, get the app from the store links above.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no watermark, no signup and no limit on how many photos you resize.
