Kingdom Rush

Kingdom Rush turned tower placement into a genre of its own: a raider walks a winding road, you drop defenders on the plots beside it, and every wave forces a new read on where your gold should go. If you searched for a way to get that itch scratched without installing anything, Palisade Pass is our own isometric 3D tower defense built around that same loop. It runs right here in your browser, rendered in real WebGL with a rotatable camera and actual hills, not a flat board. No download, no account, no ads.

How to play

Raiders spawn at one edge of the road and walk toward your keep at the other. Pick a tower from the bar at the bottom, then tap an open plot next to the road to build it: Striker is cheap and fast, Bastion hits hard with splash damage, and Frost slows and drains anything standing in its radius. Killing a raider pays gold; letting one reach the keep costs a life. On a keyboard, press 1 to 3 to pick a tower, Tab or the arrow keys to move the highlighted plot, and Enter to build.

Every wave escalates, and clearing wave 15 secures the outpost, though you can keep defending past that for an endless run. The road layout and wave order are seeded from today’s date, so everyone in the world defends the same crossing today. Your best run and daily streak are saved on your device only. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Kingdom Rush

Palisade Pass keeps the part of Kingdom Rush that made it worth reopening: a road you can read at a glance, towers that trade cost for reach and power, and a gold curve that rewards planning ahead instead of panic-clicking. Watching a Bastion’s splash catch a cluster of raiders you slowed with Frost first, then covering the gap that cost you, translates cleanly to a five-minute browser session.

It deliberately drops almost everything else. The real Kingdom Rush ships hand-drawn campaigns across multiple maps, hero units with active abilities and levels, branching tower upgrade paths, and four full sequels of content built over more than a decade. Our three towers and one daily road are not trying to replace any of that, and we are not pretending otherwise.

What we did keep is the thing a flat 2D clone could not: real terrain. The road climbs and dips over procedurally generated hills rendered with per-vertex lighting and fog, and you can orbit the camera around the battlefield the way you cannot on a static board.

Use Palisade Pass the way we do: a few minutes of tower placement in a spare tab, a quick fix on a work laptop where installing anything is out of the question, or a no-risk way to check whether the genre still grabs you before you put the real game on your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Kingdom Rush in a browser?

Not officially. Ironhide Game Studio’s Kingdom Rush is a mobile and desktop game with no supported browser version. Palisade Pass is our own tower defense built around the same road-and-plots loop, rendered in real 3D, so you can get that gameplay feel in a tab with zero setup.

Is this the real Kingdom Rush?

No. Palisade Pass is an original game we built, inspired by the tower defense genre that Kingdom Rush helped define. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Ironhide Game Studio in any way. For hand-drawn campaigns, hero units, and upgrade trees, install the official game from the links above.

Does Palisade Pass work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, the game makes no network requests at all. Your best run and streak are stored on your device with localStorage, so they survive a reload and never get sent anywhere.

Is it a flat game or actual 3D?

Real 3D. The terrain, road, towers, and raiders are all WebGL geometry with lighting and fog, not sprites on a flat image, and you can drag to rotate the camera or pinch to zoom the way you cannot on a 2D board.

Is it free? Are there ads?

Completely free. No ads, no purchases, no account, no tracking. The whole game is one small file that loads in a couple of seconds.

How long is one run?

Clearing all 15 waves takes roughly five to ten minutes, and you can keep going past that in an endless run to chase a higher score. An early loss ends much faster, and the road layout changes every day at midnight, so a failed run is worth another try.
